Okay, I'm a few days late on this log entry. I bottled the Mild Rye on Sunday (Nov. 1), with a FG of 1.016. That's more like what I was hoping this yeast would do when I picked it for the Holiday Ale. Though really they both have the same residual extract, about 1.022, so perhaps the high gravity was the main reason for higher apparent attenuation.
 
In any case, the Mild Rye tasted quite good, even flat and sweetened with priming sugar. And coming in just under 4.5% ABV, it'll be a nice counterbalance to the Holiday Ale's 7.8%+. I'll probably taste it before I head to Chicago the week after next.
