Rye Pale Ale II

Brewed during the summer/early fall of 2008. Unfortunately—although delicious—this was still not as good as the first RyePA I brewed back in undergrad. I long ago lost that recipe, so this is a decent substitute. I'll probably not try this one again for awhile, since I've just started putting a little rye malt in almost everything I brew. That being said, this was definitely a crowd pleaser, with just enough alcohol and flavor to keep them coming back for more. I'd say double the aroma hops and do a lot of dry hopping and this could really be a winner.

White Labs WLP001 California Ale

Directions
Mash for 45 minutes at 150F, then step up to 165F for 30 minutes.  Alternately, mash for
90 minutes at 150F.
